3D Films dominate with Avatar receiving a huge 11 nominations. Weta Digital and ILM both used Nuke to deliver their shots with Weta Digital also making use of Ocula - the Foundry’s stereo plug-in toolset.
Unchartered Territory, Weta and Image Engine vie for Outstanding VFX in a VFX Driven Feature Motion Picture. Animal Logic, Digital Domain and ILM join them in the battle for Best Single Visual Effect of the Year. All deployed Nuke throughout their VFX pipelines for 2012, Avatar, District 9 and Knowing.
Dive’s work on The Road and Framestore’s Sherlock Holmes shots compete for Outstanding Supporting VFX in a Feature Motion Picture.
Kerry LowLow’s Mouse commercial by MPC - their first spot composited in Nuke - features in the Outstanding Compositing in a Broadcast Program or Commercial category and is joined by Digital Domain’s Intelligently Combined commercial for Audi in the Outstanding VFX in a Commercial category.
