In 2011 we teamed up with fxphd to create and deliver a high-quality NUKE training program, accessible in all corners of the globe.
Including over 30 hours of in-depth NUKE training from fxphd's world-renowned team and assessment via a combination of online technical questions and practical project-driven work, only those who complete the program successfully can refer to themselves as 'NUKE Trainer: Certified by The Foundry and fxphd'.
Graduates can also exchange knowledge with other trainers in the program on private forums and have access to exclusive post-certification asset packs for courseware design from fxphd. The annual re-certification also enables trainers to keep up-to-date with the latest NUKE releases and features.

Graduated in Audiovisual Communication and with a Master’s in 3D Compositing, Joan Andreu Quiles is a digital compositor based in Spain. He is a talented artist with a passion for training and assisting others. With a wealth of experience in the principles of 3D animation compositing and integrating CG elements, he has worked on a variety of visual effects projects and can teach Nuke in both English and Spanish. Working on VFX had always been his dream and now is his life.
Magno Borgo has had a 10 year career working in post-production with 6 years of experience as a visual effects trainer. He is a founding member of Boundary Visual Effects, a specialised rotoscope boutique that serves clients globally. He has many commercial and feature film credits to his name. He created several online training titles for CmiVFX and teaches compositing at a local university.
Miguel Carballal is a visual effects compositor based in London and Spain. With a strong background in 3D CG imagery, he starts his career in 2001 as a 3D developer for real time applications, then moving on to be a 3D generalist in various post production houses and over the last 5 years specialized into VFX compositing. His work as a VFX compositor includes awarded feature films such as Gravity & 47 Ronin, TV Shows and commercials.
Fabio Carlini has been working in the CG industry for over 10 years, within the italian market and abroad (CH). Founder in 2003 of the company AM Studios in Rome, he worked on every process of the production, including 3D, visual effects, film & TV. In 2006, after a period as freelancer, he was employed as TD to work on a 3D animated feature short film. Right now he's a freelancer at Semafor SA (CH) (TD and compositor).
Christian has worked as a VFX Lead at WESTERNIZED Productions in San Francisco for many years, transforming the face of corporate videos with high calibre visual effects. He is currently a compositor at Industrial Light & Magic, and provides NUKE training through WESTERNIZED and Elastic Creative.
Sze is 13 year veteran in the post production software industry. Starting as a 3D Animator, he later worked as a digital audio broadcasting and graphics specialist, including systems from Getris Images to Autodesk Discreet Inferno and Flame. One of the founder of Fatbars, he now brings his specialised production training for The Foundry NUKE, Apple Final Cut and Quantel Pablo.
Steve Chong is a UK graduate with a Honours Degree in Animation. Formerly a 2D lead and Compositor in Rhythm and Hues Kuala Lumpur. Some of his best work includes a composite for "Enchanted forest" in Snow White and the Huntsman which was Oscar nominated for Best Visual Effects. In addition to production work, he plays an active role in training and evaluating 2D artists as their subject matter expert and production technical liason. Steve is currently active as a freelance compositor and part time educator around the Southeast Asia region.
Tony D'Agostino is a senior compositor experienced in high end film and television visual effects. This includes stereoscopic compositing, deep compositing, 3D tracking and on set supervision. He has worked for Animal Logic, MPC and Zoic Studios. His NUKE compositing from “The Great Gatsby” is on The Foundry’s 2014 showreel.
After architectural background studies, Giacomo Dodich moved to the CG Industry since in 2008. Winner of the 1st edition of the Austrian Computer Graphics Award in the category “best commercial”, he is the co-founder of Telegram71 (www.telegram71.com), where he is currently working as 3d generalist and compositor.
Michael Dolan has been working in post-production and CG since 2006. He began his career as a compositor and 3D generalist in the television and automotive visualization industries, and is currently developing pipeline software at RTT. He has developed many tools and workflows in and around NUKE and loves finding ways to enhance the art of compositing with code.
For the past eleven years Chris has worked at some of the most prolific post production facilities in London and Australia. These include: MPC, Cinesite, Framestore, Double Negative, The Mill, Rushes and RSP as well as several boutique VFX studios. He has also taught compositing at Queensland College of Art.
Sean Falcon was introduced to compositing 12 years ago through a Shake class at the AIFL. He then began his career compositing for episodic television, advertising and independent films. Since then he has worked for companies such as Digital Domain, Blue Sky Studios, Zoic and Sony Playstation, while running his own freelance visual effects company on the side. Sean began teaching in 2009 at AISD where he taught Shake and NUKE as well as workshops covering the full gamut of vfx disciplines. He is currently travelling as a freelance artist.
Being a Moscow-based NUKE trainer, Andrew has been offering courses and consultancy since 2007. As a compositor, he has been integrating live-action plates for State Academical Institutions, such as Bolshoi Theatre, Kremlin Palace, and more. Andrew has got over 30 certificates on a variety of software products, including Shake and Maya. He is also a founder of Drop Frame School.
I’ve always been interested in compositing. I started with After Effects by doing anims for a friend’s dvd menu. I started to learn 3D as well. I first learned 3DS MAX which I’ve used at a archviz studio for almost 3 years along with After Effects. For some reason I needed more power for compositing. That’s when I learned about NUKE. Very complex the first time but really, really fun to learn and use.
Jeremy earned his BA in Film Production at Penn State University where he focused on cinematography and animation. He has spent the last 14 years working professionally in broadcast television, commercials, and feature films. After freelancing in NYC for several years, he moved to Philadelphia where he was a lead 3D artist and digital effects artist. Since 2012 he's been a full time teaching professor in the Animation and VFX program at Drexel University.
Melania Fodritto is a compositing lecturer at the NCCA (National Centre Computer Animation) at Bournemouth University where she teaches NUKE, which she has taught since 2008. Melania has been in the VFX education industry from 2004 and has taught a variety of compositing softwares from Shake, to various inbuilt compositing systems as the compositor in XSI and Houdini. She has also collaborated with the VFX production companies such as Double Negative in London. Her main passion is working with the students at University. In addition to the technical side of Lighting, Compositing and the softwares, she loves studying the work of fine artists and the fine arts principles that underpins the VFX discipline and that allows digital artists to make beautiful imagery.
Mike Frank is a talented VFX artist with a passion for training and assisting others. Since his first gig using NUKE in 2011, Mike has worked as a floor lead, compositing supervisor, and TD. His current focus is on compositing workflows, user-friendly pipeline development, and technical training.
Eberhard is a Graduated Engineer of Technology and a senior Professor at Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, where he is teaching audio, video and vfx. He is a Graduated Musician with a rich experience in audiovisual, music and theatre production and worked for German music acts like Rio Reiser and Ton, Steine, Scherben.
Adriana Jaroszewicz received her NUKE certification in August 2013, and will be teaching a NUKE Compositing semester long course at Loyola Marymount University this coming Spring 2014. She is in full production of her animated short El Botín (The Loot), a dark tragic comedy combining 3D computer animated characters and miniature environments, where NUKE will be heavily used.
Nick Jushchyshyn’s professional production experience includes work on feature films, television and commercials. He holds an MFA in Animation & Visual Effects, has taught for the Academy of Art University, AI Philadelphia, and Drexel University where he is the Program Director for Animation & Visual Effects.
Jonas Jørgensen is a Danish VFX artist, whose love of NUKE began the first time he used it. He began the 'NUKE for Trainers' course 4 months after taking his first NUKE master classes. He is now the first Danish certified NUKE trainer.
Hussin Khan started his career as a computer programmer. After continuing his studies in the UK, he decided to move to Malaysia to join Rhythm & Hues Studios as an Educator. Other than internal training, Hussin was involved in R&H outreach programs, teaching the Art and Science of Visual Effects using NUKE and Adobe After Effects. Hussin now provides training services via hussinkhan.com.
Justin did not start out his CG career as a compositor but was always drawn to solving problems and helping his fellow peers succeed. He currently works in the Detroit area producing assets for major automotive companies.

Matt has developed and oversees The Foundry's "NUKE Training Accreditation Program". He has acted as CG Supervisor and Assistant VFX Supervisor on a number of projects. He is listed on IMDB and is a member of the Visual Effects Society. He has been using NUKE since Version 4.5 and has taught artists from companies including Framestore, Dreamworks Animation, Double Negative, MPC, Digital Domain, Ghost VFX, and Animal Logic.
After a few years trying to do some generalist VFX work for fun after school, Erwan started working professionally as a compositor in 2008. He's worked on all sorts of projects: Commercials, Feature Films, Web Series, TV, Music Videos. After a few years in Europe and America, he's now planning to try his luck in Asia.
Coming from a Shake background, Hugo has now been using NUKE for several years on various feature films, TV shows and videoclips. Still doing daily compositing, he is working as a compositing technical director in Montreal, Canada, creating and integrating pipeline tools for NUKE.
After completing a BSc in Professional Broadcast Techniques (1st Class Hons) at The University of Salford, Alex moved to London and focused on compositing for film projects. Based in Vancouver since 2009, he is now the lead compositor at Prime Focus. Alex has also worked with a number of studios including Rushes, Cinesite, Double Negative and Image Engine.
Daniel's experience as a NUKE compositor ranges from music videos and commercials to award winning visual effects movies like EVA (2011). After using different packages of compositing, he decided to go deep in NUKE because of it's flexibility. Daniel is currently teaching compositing in ESCAC in Barcelona, Spain.
Miguel is a Digital Artist with a BA in Fine Arts and Design. He has worked for the last 8 years as a freelance Compositor in films (recently World War Z and Guardians of the Galaxy), TV advertising, music videos and shorts in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland and Spain. He has taught in the University of Arts of Luzern, Switzerland and can teach NUKE in both English and Spanish.
Tom has worked on TV ads and on educational animations for the Australia National University. 2012 saw the opportunity for him to work as lead compositor on two local feature film productions: 'Theatre of the Dead' and 'Tumblegum'. Tom is currently a lecturer for Screen & Media at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, Canberra.
Gaston Marcotti starts as flame artist. He's now an independent visual effects artist with over 17 years experience in feature films and commercials over differents countries. As VFX supervisor and NUKE senior compositor, he combines both artistic approach and technical skills in his work.
Working on VFX had always been Federico's childhood dream. He started using Maya back in 2000 and worked for many years as a Motion Graphic Designer and 3D Artist. Later on he turned into a freelance compositor mainly focusing on 3D. In 2010 he totally fell in love with NUKE and now he is finally into VFX for good!
After graduating as an Electronics & Telecoms engineer in Egypt, Mina decided to pursue a career in CG production. He worked for two years in the Broadcast industry as a CG generalist and a motion graphics designer, and then went on to spend five years doing CG Compositing for Architecture visualization. During his career he gave formal training courses in colleges, training centres as well as providing pipeline consulting and training for arch animation boutiques. He currently lives in Canberra, Australia.
Ian has over 13 years’ experience of delivering high quality VFX for feature films and in the design, implementation and facilitation of industry led training courses. He has worked with companies including Double Negative, Cinesite, Rushes and Passion Pictures and delivered courses for the National Film and Television School, Escape Studios in the UK and Atomic Fiction in the US. He also runs in-house apprenticeship schemes and mentors start-ups.
Ian’s experience of operating at the highest levels in VFX and as an academic and in-house trainer has given him a unique perspective of sector requirements and how people learn, enabling him to deliver customised training for established professionals, new entrants and post-graduate film school students. Ian trains in NUKE/NUKEX, HIERO, Mocha and Silhouette.
Csaba has been a London-based freelance Digital Compositor/VFX artist since 2009. With a wealth of experience in the core principles of digital compositing and integrating CG elements into live action plates, he has worked on a variety of visual effect projects and has been VFX supervisor for short films and commercials.
After graduating in multimedia design, Jefferson started out in the feature films industry working with digital restoration. He discovered visual effects soon after this, but only really fell in love with it upon discovering NUKE. Jefferson now spends most of his time as a generalist VFX artist, creating visual effects and stereo comps in NUKE.
Victor Perez is a senior visual effects artist who has worked worldwide for 15 years with production experience in computer graphics, cinematography and visual effects. As a senior digital compositing artist and 2D technical director he has a fine combination of both an artistic and a technical understanding of film postproduction and visual effects. Furthermore he is a member of the prestigious Visual Effects Society and a frequent collaborator of Nukepedia. Victor has worked and researched with Oscar® winning studios such as Cinesite and Double Negative, amongst others. His film credits include The Dark Knight Rises (Dir. Christopher Nolan), Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows (Dir. David Yates, 2010), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Dir. Rob Marshall, 2011) to name but a few.
In parallel with his professional career as an artist Victor teaches VFX around the world at all levels for both schools and companies. He has published his studies with FXPHD and CMIVFX and he is the author of the best-seller “Color Master Class For Nuke Compositors”. Amongst his credits as a teacher he has taught the Nuke Compositing Master Class at Pixar Animation Studios and the Python For Nuke Compositors Master Class at Escape Studios.
Greg Pilon is a visual effects compositor based in the Los Angeles area. His background started on set in film production and transitioned to post production in 2007. Greg started compositing with Shake and has been working with NUKE since 2010. His work has included feature films, several shorts, commercials, and music videos.
Senior Flame Artist and Senior NUKE compositor with 20 years of experience in Post production. I started as a 3D artist back in 1992 and climbed my way up to compositing and VFX. Currently I work as a freelance VFX Supervisor and Flame Operator in one of Greece's larger Post Production facilities, working mainly with TVC and episodic TV.
Joe Raasch, senior digital compositor and coordinator of the VFX program at Seneca College (Toronto), is simultaneously engaged in studio work (11 years experience) and in student training (10 years experience). Joe's technical excellence paired with his passion for teaching make him a respected and valued instructor.
Amid has been involved in this industry since 2000 , working as a specialist with softwares like NUKE , Maya, 3ds Max, mental ray and V-Ray. He has worked as Curriculum Developer at universities and institutes in Iran for 3D and compositing software courses. Frank's VFX career spans 14 years. He commenced his relationship with NUKE compositing on King Kong at Weta Digital in 2004. His focus is on workflow enhancements and custom tailored production training on site to help artists stay on top of their shot assignments during the training.
Peter is an Engineer for Audiovisual Media and has been teaching Compositing at the Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien) since 2008. He works with students on practical VFX media production projects and develops and maintains the technical infrastructure of the VFX department.
Shaun has a background in 3D, compositing, web, computer graphics, photography, programming, IT, and anything else within his reach. He is a "Shaun-of-all-trades". Shaun currently teaches at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan, USA. He enjoys learning new tools and expanding his toolset and knowledge-base so he can share as much as he can to prepare his students for their future.
Vit has experience working on more than 20 feature films and a number of episodic and television commercial projects. Working experience includes compositing, lighting & rendering, color grading and workflow design for complete post-production pipelines. Daniel L Smith is an award winning teacher with over 22 years of experience. His film credits include Harry Potter, Judge Dredd and SpyKids 3D. Daniel has designed all aspects of the stereoscopic experience for many special venue films and worked on several ground breaking projects for Busch Gardens and Radio City Music Hall. He has used NUKE in production for over 10 years. Daniel has taught at FXPHD and teaches full-time at the Digital Animation and Visual Effects school, in Orlando Florida. Daniel has personally trained thousands of people that now have successful careers in the industry.
Thomas is a Compositor and 3D generalist based in Colorado. He holds a BFA in Cinematography and takes postsecondary classes at FXphd. Janice Tso started as a graphic artist and slipped into the compositing field in the movie industry. After a break to earn a master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine she learned NUKE. She is now freelancing in London as a NUKE compositor and conducts NUKE training in Asia.
Pan is a senior stereoscopic compositor, and VFX trainer. He worked as a photographer, editor, 3D generalist, and compositor for broadcast/TVC since 1995. In 2006 he was introduced to node compositing using Shake, Fusion, and NUKE. Since 2010 he works on feature films, and he is listed on IMDb.
Steve Wright is a 20 year VFX compositing veteran with over 70 feature film credits. Author of two popular books on compositing, he is now a full time trainer for NUKE compositing. Despite having majored in Knowledge Management, Mohammed always wanted to work in the film industry. He has been working as a freelance compositor/editor for television for 3 years. He found NUKE as a fantastic compositing program and is now working as a digital compositing teacher in Mabioca.
Dr. Jin Zhi is a film visual effects and 3D CGI artist. In the past 10 years, Jin gained his industry experience in various studios, especially as a feature film compositor who worked in a couple of top ranking visual effects studios in London. Jin is currently working as a Lecturer in Film Post-Production in the United Kingdom.
I'm a 3D generalist and digital compositor from Santiago Chile. I start my career in 2001 as a 3D and multimedia content developer at the local industry, Over the last 9 years I develop a passion for training and specialized in teaching digital tools and VFX workflows at different universities in Chile. Currently I'm creating a Online media training for 3D and digital compositing artist in Latin America.
Alex is a multi-award winning motion graphic designer and compositor working in London. Motion graphics ignited my passion for imagery and that swiftly dovetailed into 3d animation then VFx via an MA from Bournemouth. I specialise in lighting and rendering in Maya, compositing in Nuke and teaching thereof.
Ezequiel got his start in VFX Compositing in Argentina in 2008, taking part in the post-production of several TV, commercial and feature film projects including the Academy awarded film "The Secret in Their Eyes" (2009). Coming from a boutique-studio background he developed a wide arsenal of tools and procedures with which to approach problems under tight time constraints while maintaining the highest level of quality. Since then he has travelled around the world as a NUKE artist collaborating in projects in China and Australia. He currently resides in London.
Dmytro Korolov has been working in TV, post-production and film industry since 1996. He began his career as 3D generalist and motion designer, and than find her passion in compositing. Now he is successful VFX compositor, international freelacer, VFX consultant and supervisor. As a trainer Dmytro Korolov worked with English-speaking and Russian-speaking audience.
Andres Kirejew is a Toronto based VFX Supervisor, he works primarily on TVC’s, some series and features. He graduated from Media Arts at Sheridan College. His compositing career began in 1998 on a Henry, moved to Flame in 2000. Around 2009 he saw the light and learned Nuke.
Enthusiastic about all things film, Sarah has gained a wealth of experience working on film, television and commercial projects over the past 10 years.
